A Christmas Album 1967

A Christmas Album 1967
It's doubtful Barbra Streisand knew when she recorded A Christmas Album in 1967 that she'd be creating a true evergreen classic. And while Barbra sang many beloved favorites like "The Christmas Song," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "O Little Town of Bethlehem," she made sure to do them in her own special style. "White Christmas," for instance, includes the rarely heard verse; "Jingle Bells" is done in overdrive; and though it's not a Christmas carol, she sings "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music. The religious music is especially beautiful, previewing what she would do on Classical Barbra. Undiscovered gem: "The Best Gift " which was written for Barbra -- it's all about Jason, Barbra's best gift, born December 29, 1966.
